DoxyPEP for STD Prevention (2025 AC Live)
Overview
Doxycycline ("DoxyPEP") has been approved by the CDC for post-exposure prophylaxis for certain populations. In Florida, the doxyPEP guidelines that I developed are inclusive of all populations. Since approval, doxyPEP has generated a lot of conversation and debate, including questionable future antibiotic resistance, changes in gut microbiome, side effect profile, use in women, and more. These will all be explored and discussed during my presentation.
