Brian M. Lake, DO, is an endocrinologist in private practice at Lake Endocrinology and Diabetes, PLLC, in Largo, Florida. He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. Dr. Lake completed an internship and internal medicine residency at The Tampa Bay Heart Institute at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He continued with a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and medical genetics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Lake is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
Dr. Lake is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association, and the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society. He is involved with the Writing and Review Committee for the American College of Osteopathic Internists in rewriting the endocrinology board certification examination. He serves on the board of directors as president elect for the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society and sits on the board for his medical school’s alumni association as president elect as well. Dr. Lake has been an invited lecturer at many endocrine national meetings over the years. Dr. Lake is also actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and DNP students from a variety of medical and nursing schools in the Tampa Bay area. He holds status as assistant professor at USF Morsani College of Medicine, Nova Southeaster College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was also named a “Top doctor” by Tampa Bay Magazine in 2023, 2024, and again in 2025.
