Dr. Grunbaum is board certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Sun Coast Hospital and Rheumatology fellowship at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida.

In 2007, the American College of Osteopathic Internists honored Dr. Grunbaum with the National Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. It is presented annually to residents in recognition of outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, respect for patients, their families, healthcare colleagues and demonstrates excellence in clinical teaching.

After completing his training, Dr. Grunbaum entered private practice in Central Florida where he also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and also was a Clinical Preceptor for the Physician Assistant Program before returning to the Tampa areas to become an Associate Program Director for a new Internal Medicine Program and oversee the Rheumatology division and development of the program.

During the growth of the program, Dr. Grunbaum helped found the Rheumatology Fellowship and now serves as the Program Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. This program is part of the HCA Healthcare Florida/University of South Florida Graduate Medical Education Consortium involved in training physicians throughout the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Grunbaum is also an Assistant Professor with the USF Morsani College of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor with Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

He has partnered with the Arthritis Foundation, Tampa Bay Bone Coalition as well as the Tampa Bay Health & Medical Preparedness Coalition and Bone Coalition. His practice is involved in clinical research studies primarily focused on rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and gout.
