Dr. Amanda J. Finley is an osteopathic internist, medical educator, and physician executive serving as Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and an Internal Medicine Hospitalist at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Internists (FACOI) and the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Dr. Finley has dedicated her career to advancing graduate medical education, physician workforce development, and academic medicine. She previously served as the Founding Designated Institutional Officer, Founding Internal Medicine Program Director, Director of Medical Education, and Vice Chief of Staff at Henry County Medical Center, where she established a new graduate medical education enterprise, secured federal and state funding for residency expansion, and led the development of a rural Internal Medicine residency program. She served as Chief Medical Informatics Officer and Associate Clinical Professor at Magnolia Regional Health Center, where she received recognition as Innovator of the Year and Preceptor of the Year.
A nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Finley has presented on residency program development, rural physician workforce pipelines, graduate medical education, and the transition from undergraduate to graduate medical education for organizations including the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine, the National Rural Health Association, and numerous state medical organizations. She currently serves on the ACOI Research Committee and has been served as a judge for ACOI and ACP scientific poster competitions.
Dr. Finley’s academic interests include residency program leadership, faculty development, physician recruitment and retention, rural healthcare workforce development, healthcare innovation, and graduate medical education strategy. She is committed to developing the next generation of osteopathic internists through excellence in education, mentorship, and patient-centered care.
