Antonio Graham joins Johns Hopkins (CIMS Hospitalist group) with a remarkable breadth of experience. A geriatrician by training, he has served as a primary care physician, consultant, course director, chair of internal medicine, and locum tenens hospitalist. Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Antonio studied biology at Morehouse in Atlanta, then began a master’s in neuroscience with plans for a PhD and research career—until he realized he needed to be around people. Encouraged by an advisor who recognized he would make a great doctor, Antonio pivoted to medicine, earning his DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of South Alabama and a geriatrics fellowship at Bayview, where he also deepened his interest in teaching.

Antonio spent the next eight years at Emory, working at the VA as an outpatient geriatrician and directing an innovative medical school course that brought students into patients’ environments—assisted living facilities, shelters, nursing homes—to broaden their understanding of patients’ lives beyond the clinic. For the past 18 months, Antonio has been back in Baltimore, splitting his time as a PCP at Yard 56 and as the founding chair of internal medicine at the upcoming Morgan State University Medical School, simultaneously building both programs from the ground up. Though the medical school’s launch has been postponed, his dedication remains clear. Outside of work, Antonio is a passionate traveler on a mission to visit all 50 states (35 so far), a dream sparked by his father, and he’s the proud dad of a bold, fearless first grader. We’re excited to welcome Antonio’s expertise, vision, and energy to CIMS!
