Dr. Harrington trained at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital as an intern (PGY-1) The Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit completing an Internal Medicine residency, Pulmonary, and Critical Care fellowship. He also holds appointments as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Central Florida and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Harrington has been awarded multiple Excellence in Teaching Awards.

Dr. Harrington is the driving force in the development of the NCH Simulation Center following a one-year sabbatical / fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Simulation Medicine from 2019-2020.

Dr. Harrington’s interest includes the incorporation of simulation training in postgraduate residency programs, multidisciplinary simulation with high performing teams, situational awareness, and optimization of infrequent high-risk events.
