Dr. Minh-Ha Tran obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He went on to complete a traditional Osteopathic Rotating Internship at UH St John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio, followed by a Categorical Internal Medicine Residency at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Tran then completed a Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Tran currently serves as Medical Director of the Transfusion Medicine and Therapeutic Apheresis Service at the University of California Irvine Health Medical Center and holds an academic rank of HS Clinical Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Internal Medicine. In his current practice, he provides medical oversight over the Blood Banks at UCI Health in Orange and the new UCI Health Hospital in Irvine. He also provides clinical consultative services and direct patient care for both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic apheresis, hematopoietic progenitor cell and cellular therapy collections by apheresis, and participates on the inpatient benign hematology consult service at UCI. He serves as Chair of the UCI Transfusion Medicine Committee and Member of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program's Quality Management Committee.
