• Define palliative care in the context of cancer, citing the World Health Organization's official definition.
• Discuss the importance of early integration of palliative care in patients with advanced cancer diagnoses.
• Examine the guidelines and recommendations for integrating palliative care into standard oncology care, as presented by the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
