Jeffrey S. Freeman, DO, is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Chairman of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. A board-certified endocrinologist with additional certifications in internal medicine and clinical lipidology, Dr. Freeman earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital through the New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete a clinical fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, East Orange VA Medical Center. Dr. Freeman’s research and clinical interests focus on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes, incretin-based therapies, and lipid disorders. He has authored or coauthored numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals including The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, Current Drug Therapy, and Postgraduate Medicine. A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Freeman previously served as President-Elect of the American Diabetes Association, Mid-Atlantic Region, and as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Metabolic Diseases for the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
