The speaker will describe the importance of patient confidentiality in clinical practice, the importance of providers as patient advocates, the responsibility of healthcare providers in identifying and reporting the unprofessional, unethical, and illegal behaviors of their colleagues, and the legal responsibility of healthcare providers in reporting elder abuse and the potential for harm to others by patients.  This lecture was recorded on November 02, 2019 at the 2019 ACOI Annual Convention and Scientific Sessions held in Phoenix, AZ.
