The Student Osteopathic Leadership in Internal Medicine and Dialogue (SOLID) program hosts presentations and subsequent discussions designed to bring osteopathic medical students together in an open forum with ACOI leadership and mentors.  The first lecture of the December 2022 SOLID session explores the impact of federal health care policy on the delivery and availability of health care services in the United States. Topics include health care payment structure, reimbursement models, Medicare & Medicaid, cost of care, and more.  The second half of the session discusses the “difficult patient,” and provides tips to help you care for patients who may be unpleasant or inappropriate towards you as their physician.
