After participating in this educational activity, learners will be able to:
• Identify the at risk groups for COVID-19 infection, mortality, and morbidity and the common clinical manifestation and clinical course for patients with COVID-19 infection;
• Describe the role of the ACE 2 receptor in infection;
• Describe the role of the systemic anti-inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) in generating the “cytokine storm” and its role in acute kidney injury.
