Learning Objectives:

In this session, you'll learn how to:

• The learner should be familiar with the basic indications and approaches to arthrocentesis (non-ultrasound guided techniques) 
• The learner should know the four basic categories of classification of synovial fluids
• Understand how synovial fluid analysis including compensated polarized light microscopy can aid in the diagnosis and correct treatment in patients with joint diseases
