Completion of this activity will allow learners to identify first line antiretroviral therapies for the treatment of people living with HIV; discuss updates regarding the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP); indicate that an HIV viral load that is "undetectable" via lab work, is equivalent to not transmitting HIV through sexual contact or IV drug use- this is known as Undetectable ='s Untransmittable (U=U); and discuss the clinical benefits of a same day start (rapid start) strategy. This program was originally recorded on October 30, 2021 at the ACOI's 2021 Annual Convention and Scientific Sessions.
